About Yuhri

Yuhri has been a pivotal part of Menchey Music since 1997 and currently serves as the Lead Repair Technician for Orchestral Strings. His musical journey began with a bachelor’s in music education from James Madison University. He has been repairing woodwinds since 1997 and transitioned to repairing strings in 2002.  Yuhri has studied string repair and set-up with Gary Yu from Eastman Strings and Richard Ervin from NAPBIRT, apprenticed with master luthier Michael Sheibley, and studied at the University of New Hampshire Violin Craftsmanship Institute. His diverse work experience includes years as a private saxophone teacher, a gigging musician with several area bands, a karate instructor, and an assistant plant manager. Outside of work, Yuhri is involved in various clubs and enjoys activities like leather crafting, camping, shooting sports, gaming, making mead, and playing with his grandkids and dog. Repairing instruments isn’t just a job for Yuhri; it’s a passion rooted in providing quality instruments for musicians to excel.
