Rental FAQ

My instrument needs repair service?

If your instrument needs serviced, you can take it to your closest Menchey Music Location or affiliate store. You can also call customer service at 888-636-2439 ext 522 to have the instrument picked up at your student’s school.

My student doesn’t want to play anymore?

If your student no longer wants to play their instrument, we have options before returning!  You may either trade in your instrument for another type of instrument (this is best if your student would still like to play a musical instrument but is not happy with their current instrument). If they do not want to try a different instrument, then the next option is to return the instrument. You may return the instrument to one of our Menchey Music Locations or affiliates or we can schedule it to be picked up from your student’s school.  For more information regarding this process, please call customer service at 888-636-2439 ext 522, as every situation may be different.

My student doesn’t need the instrument over the summer?

If your student plans to continue playing the instrument for the following school year or will be taking summer lessons (all of our Menchey locations and affiliates offer private lessons!), it would be in your best interest to keep renting over the summer, so your student has an instrument to play. Keep in mind your payments go towards the purchase of the instrument (band) or towards a full size whenever your student is ready (string). My student wants to play a different instrument?

If your student would like to play a different instrument, you can visit any of our Menchey Music Locations or affiliates to make the exchange, or you may call us to schedule the exchange to be made at your student’s school. We do allow credit when switching from one instrument to another.  If you are switching instruments in the middle of the school year, please remember to consult your instrumental music teacher about switching instruments!

My student needs a new book or musical accessory?

If your student needs any musical accessories or lesson books, you may stop at any of our Menchey Music locations for your items. You may also call 888-636-2439 ext 522 to purchase these items over the phone and have delivered to the school.

My student needs a larger size instrument?

If your student needs a larger size instrument, please visit one of our Menchey Music Locations or affiliates. You may also call 888-636-2439 ext 522 to schedule the exchange to be done through your student’s school.

I need to update my account information?

If you need to update any account information, please call our customer service line at 888-636-2439 ext 522.

I need to change my monthly payment method?

Private Lesson FAQ

My student needs some private music lessons?

If your student is interested in private lessons, we offer lessons all year round (school year and through the summer) at all of our Menchey Music locations. You may sign up online at www.mencheymusic.com/lessons or over the phone. Call 888-636-2439 ext 522 for more information.

How much do private lessons cost?

Lesson price varies by teacher and location.  To find out prices for the location nearest you go to www.mencheymusic.com/lessons.

Do I have to sign up for a specific period of time?

No, we do not require students to take lessons for any specific period of time, however most teachers do require 2-4 weeks notice before stopping lessons.


Instrument Repair FAQ

How long will my repair take?

Our usual repair turnaround is 1 week from estimate approval.  This can vary depending on time of year and services needed.

Do you have instruments to use while mine is being repaired?

If you are renting an instrument from Menchey Music we can generally provide a loaner to you at no cost.  We try to provide a loaner instruments for privately owned instruments but cannot guarantee availability. We can not provide a loaner if a privately owned instrument is being repadded or overhauled.
