About Shane

Shane joined the Menchey Music team in 2021 as a retail associate. He transitioned to the Menchey repair team as a String Repair Technician in 2023, specializing in guitars. With a background in film and architecture from Western Michigan University, Shane’s passion for guitars was further ignited during his time there, being in close proximity to the Gibson company. He recently completed training with renowned guitar specialists at the Nazareth Guitar Institute and is certified in Fender Academy. Before his musical endeavors, Shane honed his leadership and customer-centric skills in the food service industry. Off the workbench, Shane indulges in his passion for creating homemade Lo-Fi gear and reviving guitars through his unique “Frankensteining” approach. He blends his love for film and music, creating art that defines him. Shane is an avid VHS collector, enjoys cinematic experiences on the big screen, and frequently spends his Saturday evenings at the local movie theater.
