On June 21, communities around the world celebrated Make Music Day, an annual event dedicated to the joy of making and sharing music. What began more than 40 years ago in France has grown into a worldwide celebration, encouraging people of all ages and experience levels to participate in music.
This year, Menchey Music was proud to take part in two local events that brought our community together through music.
Baltimore’s Marching Ravens Play-Along at Ravens Playground
Families gathered at the Ravens Playground for a special Ravens Play-Along event, where participants had the opportunity to experience music in a fun, interactive environment. The event welcomed musicians and non-musicians alike, creating an atmosphere where everyone could join in and enjoy making music together.
One of the best parts of Make Music Day is that there are no barriers to participation. Whether someone has played an instrument for years or is trying music for the very first time, everyone is invited to be part of the experience.
Making Music at Keystone Kidspace
We also enjoyed celebrating at Keystone Kidspace, where children and families explored music through hands-on activities and interactive experiences. Throughout the day, participants had opportunities to discover instruments, create sounds, and experience firsthand how music can inspire creativity and connection.
Events like these help introduce young people to music in an approachable and engaging way, often sparking curiosity that can lead to a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
