Make Music Day is a global celebration of music that takes place on the summer solstice each year. Typically, the event consists of free live outdoor concerts in over 1,000 cities worldwide, but this year the event will be semi-virtual.
Make Music Day started in France back in 1982 and was created by their Ministry of Culture as a new holiday where music would be played throughout the city streets by anyone and everyone who wanted to perform. And now, 38 years later, the event is celebrated in over 120 countries worldwide!
Menchey Music will be celebrating the event on Saturday, June 20th by hosting a variety of video submissions on our social media platforms. We will have some of our staff and students featured in performances, as well as product demonstrations and even a step-by-step video to follow to make your own maracas out of household items!
Tune in to our Facebook Page on Saturday, June 20th to join the fun!
Check makemusicday.org to tune in to the live streams for cities worldwide on Sunday, June 21st!
