Baldwin “Hamilton” Model 243 Upright Piano

The Baldwin “Hamilton” model 243 is the all-time best-selling single upright model in the history of piano-building. This particular 1978-built instrument has been well-maintained by its previous owner and is now available for purchase from our Menchey Music piano gallery location in Timonium, MD. This piano has been tuned regularly and is structurally and mechanically very sound. If you are in the market for a fine piano at a very reasonable cost, this instrument would be a great choice.

The Baldwin model 243 is a 45” tall piano with its longest bass string equivalent to a 5’8” grand piano. The 19-ply pin-block provides solid tuning stability, the full-blow action is very responsive to every musical nuance, and the solid spruce soundboard provides full resonance and sustain from treble to bass.

This instrument has been thoroughly inspected and detailed by our technical staff. Preparation includes removal of all keys to clean the key bed, cleaning and sterilizing the key-tops, vacuuming the inside cavity and back of the instrument, tuning, action regulation and cabinet detailing. This lovely instrument will provide many years of musical enjoyment for a beginning to advanced player.
