What is happening?
Mark Wood and his band, The Mark Wood Experience, will be coming back to Central York High School for a two-day workshop with Central York students. The string players from grades 5 - 12 will work with Mark while the members of the CYHS Concert Chorus will work with recording artist Laura Kaye. The workshop culminates with two concerts featuring Central York students on stage with the Mark Wood Experience.
What's this I hear about a concert?
Students will perform in concert with the Mark Wood Experience. If you attended the concert last year, you know that this isn't your typical orchestra concert, this is a rock show! The concerts take place on Saturday, March 13, 2010 in the Central York High School Auditorium. Concerts begin at 4:00 and 7:30 PM.
How can I get tickets?

Pricing:
Adults: $15 -- Students/Children: $10 (Before March 13, 2010)
Adults: $20 -- Students/Children: $15 (At the door)
Why do this (again)?
After receiving an overwhelming amount of positive feedback about the
workshop and concert last year, it was decided that the "Electrify Your
Strings" program was too beneficial to leave as a "once-in-a-lifetime"
event. Thanks to a generous donation of $5,000 from the Panther Foundation,
Central York has purchased four new electric string instruments from Wood
Violins. These instruments are a first step toward our goal of an electric
rock orchestra. Our hope is to capitalize on the excitement of last year and
create an event better experience for even more students. We hope this will
serve to strengthen the string and chorus programs, but we need your help!
